Beaumont Leys School EV charging installation

Mango EV designed and installed an 11-bay workplace EV charging solution for Beaumont Leys School, providing reliable charging for staff and visitors while creating a scalable infrastructure to support the school’s future transition to electric vehicles.

Beaumont Leys School approached us to explore the possibility of installing EV charging facilities for staff and visitors, taking advantage of the government grant funding available at the time.

As a large site with growing demand for electric vehicle charging among staff and visitors and no current charging infrastructure, the school required a solution that would meet immediate requirements while also supporting future growth.

Following a detailed site inspection, our engineer identified several potential installation locations across the site. To ensure the school could make a fully informed decision, we provided multiple design and quotation options, covering different charger placements and future expansion possibilites,

The chosen Solution was to install EV charging infrastructure within the school’s main car park, where sufficient parking capacity and electrical infrastructure allowed for a larger-scale deployment. This enabled the installation of 11 EV chargers in total, providing ample charging provision for staff and visitors while future-proofing the site for the continued growth of electric vehicle adoption.

Problem – A large, busy school with no EV charging facilities for staff or visitors, requiring a solution to support increasing EV adoption across the site.

Solution – Installation of 11 x 7kW VCHRGD pedestal-mounted EV chargers within the main car park, creating a dedicated charging hub for staff and visitors. The solution included a back office management system, giving the school full control over charger access, usage monitoring and tariff management.

Result – Beaumont Leys School can now offer reliable and accessible EV charging facilities for staff and visitors. The installation provides sufficient capacity to meet current demand while supporting future growth in EV usage, eliminating the need for further expansion near term.
