Mango EV designed and installed an 11-bay workplace EV charging solution for Beaumont Leys School, providing reliable charging for staff and visitors while creating a scalable infrastructure to support the school’s future transition to electric vehicles.

Beaumont Leys School approached us to explore the possibility of installing EV charging facilities for staff and visitors, taking advantage of the government grant funding available at the time.

As a large site with growing demand for electric vehicle charging among staff and visitors and no current charging infrastructure, the school required a solution that would meet immediate requirements while also supporting future growth.

Following a detailed site inspection, our engineer identified several potential installation locations across the site. To ensure the school could make a fully informed decision, we provided multiple design and quotation options, covering different charger placements and future expansion possibilites,

The chosen Solution was to install EV charging infrastructure within the school’s main car park, where sufficient parking capacity and electrical infrastructure allowed for a larger-scale deployment. This enabled the installation of 11 EV chargers in total, providing ample charging provision for staff and visitors while future-proofing the site for the continued growth of electric vehicle adoption.

Problem – A large, busy school with no EV charging facilities for staff or visitors, requiring a solution to support increasing EV adoption across the site.

Solution – Installation of 11 x 7kW VCHRGD pedestal-mounted EV chargers within the main car park, creating a dedicated charging hub for staff and visitors. The solution included a back office management system, giving the school full control over charger access, usage monitoring and tariff management.

Result – Beaumont Leys School can now offer reliable and accessible EV charging facilities for staff and visitors. The installation provides sufficient capacity to meet current demand while supporting future growth in EV usage, eliminating the need for further expansion near term.

Delivering a Future-Proof EV Charging Solution Within Budget

Riverbank School approached us to explore the installation of EV charging infrastructure at their site in Luton. Having already received proposals from two other providers, the school was concerned that both solutions exceeded their available budget and wanted an alternative approach that offered better value.

During the site survey, our engineer worked closely with the client to discuss their requirements and assess several possible installation locations. Understanding the importance of cost control, we identified an alternative charger placement that reduced the amount of civils works and cabling required.

By minimising installation costs and maximising the available government grant funding, we were able to deliver far greater value than originally expected. Rather than installing the two chargers initially requested, we proposed and delivered four EV chargers while remaining within the school’s budget.

  • Problem – The client required two EV chargers for staff and lettings users but needed to keep the project within a strict budget.
  • Solution – By recommending a more cost-effective charger location and maximising available grant funding, we were able to install four chargers instead of the requested two, meeting current requirements while allowing for future growth.

Operating Hardware Project

Zurich Insurance – Multi-Site Charger Management

The Challenge

Zurich Insurance had 19 EV chargers installed across three separate locations. While the charging hardware itself was operating reliably, the existing manufacturer management platform lacked the functionality required to effectively monitor charger usage, manage staff access, and oversee charging activity across multiple sites.

This limited operational visibility and restricted the client’s ability to effectively manage reporting and user activity.

Our Solution

Mango EV took over management of the existing charging infrastructure by onboarding the chargers onto the Monta back-office platform.

This provided Zurich Insurance with:

  • Centralised charger management across all sites
  • Improved visibility of charger usage and availability
  • Staff charging management functionality
  • Usage reporting and analytics
  • Revenue generation capabilities
  • Greater operational control without replacing existing hardware

By integrating the chargers into a more flexible and scalable software platform, we were able to significantly enhance the usability and management capabilities of the infrastructure already in place.

Outcome

Zurich gained a smarter and more commercially effective charging management solution, enabling improved oversight, streamlined administration, and enhanced user experience across all three locations.
